How do you organize your cardstock?

As paper crafters, we all have the same problem.  How do we organize our cardstock in a way that is (1) easy to access when we want to use it and (2) keeps our paper stash safe protected from damage. 

This is how I store mine.  It also makes it portable for when I go to crops or retreats.  

Initially it took a small investment for supplies and time but in the end I love it.  

1. First thing I did was create a Design Space file to cut one piece of cardstock at 11.5 x 11.5 for each color in my stash. 
2. I then used Design Space to cut name pieces on printable vinyl for each tab. 
3. I ordered a large laminator and sleeves from Amazon.  After putting the color title on each piece of tab cut cardstock I laminated them.
4. Because the laminator sleeves were much longer than my cardstock I cut them at the bottom.  I wanted the tabs to stand up higher than the cardstock behind it, so I cut it so that the were 12 3/4 inches tall.  
5. To cut, I just used my Cricut Portable Trimmer.  I want to add to this that I have been scrapbooking for along time.  I have bought many trimmers in m time, and after getting this one, I threw the others away.  I have since bought another one of these, one for my craft room and one for my go bag.  This is the last trimmer you will ever buy.  
6. To store all my cardstock I bought The Fold N' File from Thirty One gifts.  I use a couple of these.  These allow me transport my paper without having it too heavy in one container.

Who doesn't love freshly canned items?  I know that Brian and I enjoy canning things during the summer to enjoy them all year long.   From Asparagus to salsa we like to preserve the goodness of summer.  

Brian enjoys going on tuna trips out of Oregon or Washington and then he and his parents can the tuna.  Pressure cookers scare me so I stay out of that one!  When he is not able to go, his parents still bring us some of the freshly canned tuna (and tuna steaks!) for our pantry.  

Asparagus is a huge one of us.  I used Aunt Patsy's recipe and I think it's the best thing in the world.  Even our neighbor kid comes over and eats it almost as fast as I can can it it seems.  One year I had to limit him he was eating it so fast!  

Since canning is something we enjoy, I thought it would be fun to make pretty labels on my Cricut to mark what is in each jar.  I did not date these ones, because the two items don't last long in our house.  

In the video below I show you how you can make your very own custom labels for your jars too.  Add a ribbon and they are pretty enough to give as gifts!

Advent Calendar

Thanks to Close to My Heart, Xyron, and Cricut I was able to complete this adorable advent calendar easily!  

Close to My Heart provides the Design Space files (in workshop instructions below).  I used my Xyron to make it easier to stick all the little pieces on.  The only other thing I did different than the instructions was I used red line tape to adhere each layer of boxes together. I felt it gave it more stability.
