As paper crafters, we all have the same problem. How do we organize our cardstock in a way that is (1) easy to access when we want to use it and (2) keeps our paper stash safe protected from damage.
This is how I store mine. It also makes it portable for when I go to crops or retreats.
Initially it took a small investment for supplies and time but in the end I love it.
- First thing I did was create a Design Space file to cut one piece of cardstock at 11.5 x 11.5 for each color in my stash.
- I then used Design Space to cut name pieces on printable vinyl for each tab.
- I ordered a large laminator and sleeves from Amazon. After putting the color title on each piece of tab cut cardstock I laminated them.
- Because the laminator sleeves were much longer than my cardstock I cut them at the bottom. I wanted the tabs to stand up higher than the cardstock behind it, so I cut it so that the were 12 3/4 inches tall.
- To cut, I just used my Cricut Portable Trimmer. I want to add to this that I have been scrapbooking for along time. I have bought many trimmers in m time, and after getting this one, I threw the others away. I have since bought another one of these, one for my craft room and one for my go bag. This is the last trimmer you will ever buy.
- To store all my cardstock I bought The Fold N' File from Thirty One gifts. I use a couple of these. These allow me transport my paper without having it too heavy in one container.
I hope you like this idea. If you use it, please share you finished product so we can all see it!
