Lia Griffith Crepe Paper Flowers

#sponsored

I have received more than a few messages about how to make the crepe paper flower we made at the Cricut Mountain Make-a-Thon event earlier this week.  So for the sake of time, here is the info.

First you need to have a Cricut Maker! The rotary blade will cut the crepe paper smoothly and will not rip it.

Of course you need Crepe Paper.  I purchased the Lia Griffith Crepe Paper
For the leaves, I also chose Lia Griffith Crepe Paper

When you cut your leaves and flower petals, make sure the lines on your crepe paper go up and down on your mat instead of side to side.

Once you have your petals cut, I colored mine with Pan Pastels using a Sponge that is cut into triangles.

Using White Floral Wire (cut into 3rds) - roughly measure how much of the wire needs to be glued by holding it next to the outside edge of the the petals.

Dip that portion of the wire into your Glue and squeeze the glue up onto it, so that it is covered.  Now lay the glued wire along the the top outside edge of your petal.  Place the second half of the petal on top of it to create your full petal.

Repeat this process for the leaves, only use Green Floral wire

Now using a full size piece of the Green Floral wire place some Glue on the tip and wrap your flower stamen (cut from cardstock of your choice) around it.  Next place the 3 smaller flower petals around the tip and wrap with Floral Tape to hold in place.  Add the larger petals and repeat the process of wrapping.  Lastly add the the leaves to your stem and wrap as well.  Bend and adjust your flower to your liking.

Happy Crafting!!
